A backyard that had been sitting unused for years, just grass and a concrete slab past its prime, got a full outdoor living makeover. Kaiser built a custom composite deck off the back of the house, connected by steps down to a new paver patio designed for a fire pit and seating area. Footings were set below Ohio’s frost line and the patio base was properly excavated for Lorain County’s clay-heavy soil, so both structures are built to hold up through freeze-thaw cycles for years to come. The homeowners now have a finished outdoor space made for entertaining, from grilling on the deck to gathering around the fire pit below.
